Transfer iPhone photos to Linux

Monday, June 29th, 2009

The iPhone uses a proprietary library on Windows and Mac to transfer photos from the iPhone to the computer.  Presumably, they’re doing this to prevent playing with the phone’s other contents (files).
Someone has written a replacement driver for Linux which allows access to the photos.  It looks like he reverse-engineered the protocol.  More details are […]

iPhone applications

Monday, June 1st, 2009

I have downloaded several applications to my iPhone. These aren’t “critical” or “necessary” applications, but I thought they might be of interest.

2.  You may have to turn off the fetching of new mail […]

iPhone SDK

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Some people have developed an iPhone SDK through some serious hacking.
And in February, Apple is supposed to release their iPhone SDK. I’m excited–I am going to port Double Chess to the iPhone when I get a chance.

Music player phrase book

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

This is a cool idea–you can use your music player (iPod, iPhone, Treo, whatever) as a phrase book.  You can buy pre-built CDs for standard languages.  iSpeak is one series, but it only covers a few common languages.
What if you want to learn Irish?
If you search the web, you can find audio samples of many […]

Compares the iPhone’s keyboard with the Treo’s keyboard.
